Washington's Crossing is the premiere open water swimming race in the greater Washington DC area! 

The race begins from National Harbor to Jones Point, where Alexandria, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC intersect, and back to National Harbor. Swimmers experience the beauty and grace of the Potomac River during a 1-way crossing to the midpoint or a swim back across or during a 2-Way crossing.  Make history and register now! (Prices increase as race approaches.)

Sunday, June 5, 2022 at National Harbor, MD; Commercial Pier/North Cove

Swim Distance:  2.1K (1.25 Miles) and 4.2K (2.5 Miles)

Timeline (tentative):  

2-Way Crossing and Single Crossing:  Check-in 7:00AM; Safety Briefing on the pier 7:25AM; Enter water and start 7:45AM. Both events will start in-water at the pier/dock similar to our weekly swims.

Swimmer Registration Information

  • Sunday June 6, 2021 - 2.5 mile swim from National Harbor, MD to Jones Point, Virginia and back to National Harbor. Check in by 7:00AM. Be ready to swim. Must be able to swim 1 mile in 40 minutes or less. Entries limited to first 50 swimmers.

  • Sunday June 5, 2022 - Swim to Potomac River midpoint and back. 1.25 mile swim round trip to National Harbor.

  • Sunday June 5, 2022 - Swim to Potomac River midpoint and back. 1.25 mile swim round trip to National Harbor.
