Washington's Crossing: Swim Across the Potomac River

National Harbor, Maryland

The 9th annual Washington's Crossing is the only open water race in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia that spans the width of the Potomac River. The race begins aboard a Potomac Riverboat water taxi motoring to the Jones Point intersection of all three territories. Then the swimmers jump into the river and prepare to start.  At the sound of the starting horn, swimmers begin their journey approximately 2.3 kilometers back to the National Harbor beach lagoon to be greeted by the sculpture, the Awakening.  The course is marked with large buoys that guide you to your destination. Washington's Crossing is limited to 130 swimmers.

6:50 AM - Check in opens
7:30 AM - Check In closes
7:40 AM - Mandatory safety meeting
8:00 AM - Potomac Riverboat  departs National Harbor.
8:30 AM Race start in Potomac River at Jones Point

Failure to follow these recommendations or restrictions constitutes permission for removal from the event premises. Prices and event times subject to change without notice. No refunds or transfers.
